St Jean

We start in Bidart, les Embruns with a dangerous 612 Ba 45, follow the coast till Ba 49c with the lonely 636. At St-Jean de Luz Pointe de Saint Barbe covers at the eastern end of the bay. The Germans built an Army coastal battery here. Ba 50 had 4 x 10,5 cm K.331 (f) guns, placed in 671s and maintained by 5./H.K.A.R. 1287 (ex 1./748).

The direct entrance to the harbor was defended by two 8,35 cm Flak 22 (t) guns suitable of firing at targets at sea level. These guns were placed in Sk casemates, fully integrated into the rocks. This strongpoint is called Ba 51.

The wind rose on the ceiling of a 636.
