This radio site is named after the IGN-designation Mont Violette. (K 06) Follow the road from Haut Pichot to the north. The radio guidance system was called "Knickebein" and it used a big flat antenna that could rotate on steel tracks. The system was ment to guide the German bombers to their targets in England. After the British engineers succesfully developed counter measures, the Knickebein system was replaced by the X and Y-line.
