Ritthem

A part of the tankwall in the Welzinge polder has been demolished. We start nearby the farmyard at the Trekdijk and follow the wall south until the PAK bunker 700 at the end. The tankwall has several built-in tobruks and shootingholes for rifle or Mg. The bunker of type 700 is the only remaining specimen in Europe. A second one was built just where the wall in the north starts now, but it was demolished. The works in the Wn Rommel were realised up and around the ancient fortress Rammekens. This relic is worth your visit and not only for the German additions from WW-2.
