Vf bunkers on Walcheren

(outside Vb Vlissingen)

Besides a total of 305 St-bauten, a vast number of lighter Vf construction were built on the island. A vast number has been demolished after the war, but there are many left. This part shows you the results of a first inventory of these works outside the Vb Vlissingen. Some Vfs were constructed in existing mounds from ancient times. These early works, made as a defence against the nasty Vikings, have a high monumental status and are forbidden terrain.
