Area Cannes (Théoule-sur-Mer, Cannes, Antibes)
Here we are covering the area from Théoule-sur-Mer (La Napoule), the Îles de Lérins which lie in front of Cannes and Antibes. Two coastal batteries were erected in this area; HKB Théoule-sur-Mer and HKB Cannes. Both batteries seem to have disappeared either forever or between the villas. Because of the walls of the Château of La Napoule the bunkers here are very well preserved. This is also the case for the bunkers on the Îles de Lérins which are surrounded by water and are not harmed by the construction of new buildings. Unfortunately while visiting Île Sainte-Marguerite I got wounded (watch out for shells on rocks) and I could not continue on visiting the defences here, thus we have only few photos of this beautiful location.
