la Tamarissière, Agde

At the beaches of Agde two army coastal batteries were built very closely together. The first one was placed in open emplacements and manned by the 5./H.K.A.L.A. 101, the second one was armed with four 10.5 cm K331 (f) guns placed in type 669 casemates and manned by the men of the 3./H.K.A.L.A. 101. The last one was a textbook battery with 1 x 636, 4 x 669, 2 x 612, several 622, several 607, a 638 hospital, a 610 commandpost, several 668 and small bunkers. Unfortunately the firecontrolpost, casemates and flanking casemates have disappeared into the sea together with the emplacements of the first battery. Except for these bunkers everything is still there and located mostly on the camping site. Further west you'll find a small infantery position with two 668s, a 134 and a 612. The last one could be part of either of the two batteries.
