Battery Plouharnel makeover
The Liberty Breizh Memory Group (L.B.M.G.) from Plouharnel has signed an agreement with the local governement to clean some of the bunkers of the railroad battery Plouharnel.
The battery also known as Le Bégo is a heavy 34cm railroad battery. Most of the bunkers are still there and the association managed to get permission to clean two ammunition bunkers. More info on the works on the french Atlantikwall forum.

I, Lisbet Cools, am master student interior architecture at the College of Science and Art at St. Lucas in Ghent.
Currently I am working on the research for my thesis project. This deals with the remnants of World War II, specifically the bunkers between Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez. I have made a vertical section through a bunker and linked this with the entire history, the story of the bunker over time.
The next step in my research is to look at it from a different perspective, namely from the interior! (Unlike the writer Paul Virilio)
For this I need much more information about this “life on the inside ‘, by original letters, sketches of the interior, diaries, … of the soldiers who lived in those bunkers. It’s specifically about “Batterie Todt”. I know that Marine Artillerie Abteilung 240 and Marine Artillerie Abteilung 242 were located there.
Would you be able to help me with this? Or do you know some people who I can contact?
I need these documents as soon as possible!! So I can continue this with my supervisor.
